Port of Gdansk Authority SA in organizations
ESPO European Sea Ports Organisation is an organisation set up in 1993. ESPO represents the port industry of the EU member states and maintains direct contact with more than 800 port authorities in Europe. The main goal of ESPO is to influence the maritime policy of the European Union and to secure the proper rank for ports when planning the economic development of EU member states and the entire European Community. PGA SA has belonged to ESPO since February 1999 and at present is represented by Foreign Affairs and Public Relations Director, Julian Skelnik - Vice Chairman of the organisation.
BPO Baltic Ports Organization was founded on the initiative of ports during the General Founders Assembly in Copenhagen on 10 October 1991. Port of Gdansk Authority SA has belonged to BPO since 1993. As of 2007, BPO is chaired by PGA SA Foreign Affairs and Public Relations Director, Julian Skelnik. The main objectives of BPO include: to promote policies and viewpoints of ports in the Baltic region with relevant international organisations, to study problems related to the port industry in the context of international threats, so as to keep its members informed and to seek, when possible, common positions.
Cruise Europe was founded in 1991 after a meeting between 27 European ports, where the objective was to work co-operatively in order to attract more cruise vessels to the ports of Northern and Western Europe. Cruise Europe today has a membership of more than 100 ports of the Baltic, Norwegian and North Sea. Cruise Europe maintains close connections with cruise lines in matters such as their market operations, safety issues, environmental matters and improvement of facilities offered by the ports. The Port of Gdansk Authority SA joined Cruise Europe in 2003.
Cruise Baltic is an organisation established in 2004 by representatives of 12 ports and cities from 10 countries within the Baltic Sea region. It is currently comprised of 29 ports and cities, and aiming at the promotion of the Baltic Sea region among tourists, carriers and tour operators as a competitive destination for cruise ship passengers. The Port of Gdansk Authority SA has been a member of Cruise Baltic since 2011. To this day, Cruise Baltic continues its mission of positioning the Baltic Sea region as attractive and fully recognizable in the international cruise ship industry.
Polish Chamber of Maritime Commerce is a nationwide, self-governing organisation whose main task is to integrate entities operating in various sectors of the maritime economy, to represent them before the national and local institutions and administration and to provide Polish businesses operating in the maritime economy with relevant assistance matched to their needs and interests. The aim of the organisation is to support business initiatives related to the seacoast region and to encourage activities aimed at the development of sea tourism and leisure industry. PGA SA has been a member of the Polish Chamber of Maritime Commerce since 2000.
