On 26th August 2010, at the Royal Castle in Warsaw, the results were announced of the 14th edition of the National Open Competition "Modernisation of the Year". The competition is gaining in popularity as it is held under the patronage of the Ministries of Infrastructure, National Education, Culture and National Heritage, Sport and Tourism, and the General Inspectorates of Building Control and Environmental Protection, and also thanks to the cooperation with the Polish Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Polish Chamber of Construction and the Association of Polish Municipalities. The chapter of the competition - including previous winners - faced a challenging task. In 2009, there were over 700 projects entered across 13 categories, competing for the prize. In each category, only one prize and one honorable mention were awarded: to the Investor, the Designer, and to the Contractor of the project.
