The Port of Gdansk rebuilds its position in the automotive sector
2017, with EMS Highway's call at the port and its first loading,
regular Ro-Ro type shipping service between Gdansk and Tilbury was launched, which will call at the Port of Gdansk once
from now on, in order to pick up Hyundai cars.
Transshipments at the Port of Gdansk exceed last year's record.
2016 is not yet over, but the volume of transshipments is already higher than in the previous record year, being currently estimated at more than 36.3 million tonnes.
Agreements for EU grants have already been signed
On 22 November,
handover of the agreements concluded between the Port of Gdansk
and the European Commission, represented by the Innovation and Networks Executive Agency (INEA) took place at the seat of the Ministry of Development in Warsaw. The agreements concern the award of an EU grant from the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) for three projects - two investment projects and one design project.

As part of the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF), the Port of Gdansk
also received funding for the preparation of project and environmental documentation for the expansion and modernisation of core network hubs in terms of road and railway infrastructure on the right bank of the Inner Port (the area of Basen Gorniczy and nabrzeże Przemyslowe).

In October 2016, the Port of Gdansk
signed three agreements for EU grants that will make it possible to finance infrastructure investments planned for the forthcoming period at the Port of Gdansk.
