A debate on smart solutions in the maritime industry

25.09.2017

On 21 September 2017, the Port of Gdansk was visited by experts discussing smart solutions in the maritime industry. The conference was organised in cooperation with the Marshal's Office.

George Cambanis, an expert with over 30 years of experience in the maritime industry, founder and CEO of Deloitte in Greece, was the special guest of the meeting. George Cambanis is the global leader of the Shipping & Ports Group at Deloitte, where he cooperates with a network of more than 700 professionals from the maritime industry, who provide audit, financial consulting, debt restructuring, consultancy, and tax services for companies from the maritime industry in Asia, EMEA, and North and South America.

Participants of the debate included Vice-President of the Board of the Port of Gdansk Authority Marcin Osowski, representatives of the Department of Economic Development at the Office of the Marshal of the Pomeranian Region, president of the newly founded Polski PCS company Przemyslaw Targowski, representatives of startups cooperating with the Port of Gdansk and the Port of Gdynia, and members of the Board for the Smart Specialisations of Pomerania.

During the conference, representatives of the participating startups had the chance to present the latest solutions offered by their companies. The proposals of the young entrepreneurs from theConstruct, Parkanizer, VIStechnologie, and Full Fresh Air companies are innovative ideas that aim at improving the maritime and port industry.
