The first cruise ship of the season at the Port of Gdansk
The morning of 10 September 2020 saw the first cruise ship of the season arriving at the Port of Gdansk. The "cruise ship season" used to start at the port in April and end in October. What is more, this year was supposed to break
in the number of arrivals, but the coronavirus pandemic has changed everything. The plans were to welcome 84 vessels, but today we saw the first one.
Port of Gdansk and the Rzeczpospolita Eagle Award
Warsaw, 27 August 2020, saw the Second Meeting of the TSL Sector Leaders taking place, organised by the Rzeczpospolita daily. This year the participants discussed the current challenges faced by the logistics industry and its development prospects. During the gala ceremony special Rzeczpospolita TSL Awards were presented to outstanding companies from the logistics industry and its business environment in the Polish market. The Port of Gdansk received
Rzeczpospolita Eagle Award in recognition for its impact on the development of the Polish economy, handling half of the Polish foreign trade by sea, and its increase in transshipment volume.
Agreement between Gdansk University of Technology and the Port Gdansk
On Thursday, August 13, at the Northern Port Master's Office, an agreement was signed between Gdansk University of Technology and the Port of Gdansk Authority, with the aim of pilot implementation of Internet of Things (loT) systems.
The Port of Gdansk has advanced to the group of leading European ports
In spite of the impact of the global crisis and the ongoing pandemic, in the 1
half of 2020 the Port of Gdansk advanced to the group of the top 20 European ports, outstripping the ports in Genoa and Dunkirk.

An investment at the Port of Gdansk nearing completion
85% of the work has already been executed. The NDI company will complete work on the redevelopment of the road and railway system at the Port of Gdansk. The ongoing work will result in 5.6 km of new roads, 16 junctions,
car park for heavy goods vehicles. An additional railway track leading to the DCT terminal has already been completed, along with new tracks leading to the coal terminals, and
railway traffic control system.
11.3 million tonnes transshipped at the Port of Gdansk in Q1 2020

quarter of 2020, the Port of Gdansk achieved
lower by 8.3% than in the same period of 2019, concluding the 1
quarter with transshipments at the level of 11.3 million tonnes. Decreases were recorded in most cargo groups, apart from grain (+223%), LPG (+27%), and other bulk cargo (+6.4%).
