A study visit from INEA
Representatives of the Ministry of Development Funds and Regional Policy and the European Commission visited the Port of Gdansk. On 27 November 2019, the government delegation had the opportunity to take
look at ongoing investments, co-financed from EU funds.
First regular railway service to connect China with Gdansk
On November 21, 2019, DCT Gdansk launched the first permanent railway connection of the Euro China Train. The train will regularly arrive from Xi'an in China via the Adampol Małaszewicze land terminal to the DCT maritime container terminal in the Port of Gdańsk.
Another stage of quay modernisation at the Port of Gdansk completed
Two renovated quays were commissioned at the Port of Gdansk as part of the port's ongoing quay and fairway modernisation project. On 15 November, Vice-President of the Board and Director of Infrastructure at the Port of Gdansk Marcin Osowski ceremonially announced the completion of one of the stages of work where the revitalised Mew Quay and Obroncow Poczty Polskiej Quay meet and officially commissioned both quays.
Madam Ambassador Daphne Bergsma's visit to the Port of Gdansk
On 14 November 2019, the Port of Gdansk Authority had the honour of playing host to the new Ambassador of the Netherlands, Daphne Bergsma for the first time. Madam Ambassador was accompanied by the Head of the Economic Department, Sanne Kaasjager.
The Port of Gdansk connects Poland and Singapore
The Port of Gdansk became the initiator and organiser of the
Singapore Maritime & Business Mixer
forum. Leading representatives of the maritime industry from both countries met in Singapore on 29 October. This was the first such initiative, connecting two of the world's most rapidly developing economies. At the same time, the event celebrated 50 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Opening of Poland’'s first training centre for port staff
A ceremonial opening of Poland's first training centre for port staff, using simulation techniques in virtual and augmented reality, was held at the Port of Gdansk.
KSC S.A. opened its Sugar Terminal in the Port of Gdansk
KSC S.A. invested over PLN 100 mio. to develop the Sugar Terminal, the silo and quay infrastructure. This move will help the Company reach new markets in Asia and Africa. Krajowa Spolka Cukrowa plans to ship 300,000 tons of sugar over its terminal in the coming years.
