Tender for companies near the largest container hub in the Baltic Sea

Tender for companies near the largest container hub in the Baltic Sea

The Port of Gdańsk – the fastest growing port in Europe – announces a tender procedure for the lease of strategically located real estate in the immediate vicinity of the largest container terminal on the Baltic Sea. This is a unique opportunity for companies from the logistics and cargo handling industries.

Port of Gdańsk Authority SA has begun the process of commercialising a unique 3.3-hectare investment site located on Kontenerowa Street, in the operational centre of one of the most dynamically developing ports in Europe. The site is directly next to the Baltic Hub terminal, the largest container hub in the Baltic Sea and one of the most important transit hubs in the region.

Ready for action without costly preparation

The plot forms a plug-and-play solution – the ground has been reinforced with reinforced concrete slabs (150x300x15 cm) laid on a compacted sand and gravel base. This is a standard that has proved itself in conditions of intense use by heavy equipment and oversized vehicles. This allows potential investors to start operations almost immediately, without incurring high preparatory costs.

Strategic location as an operational advantage

The site is really well connected – located right next to the Sucharskiego route, which leads straight to the Południowej ring road of the Tri-City, the A1 motorway and the S7 expressway towards Warsaw. An additional advantage is the quick access via the tunnel under the Martwa Wisła river, which connects the eastern and western parts of Gdańsk, including the left bank of the port.

‘This location allows us to avoid one of the key challenges in oversized logistics – the need to obtain authorisations from the Gdańsk roads and greenery authority each time. The only permit required for the transport of oversized loads is that from Port of Gdańsk Authority SA, saving time and operating costs’, emphasises Maksymilian Czapiewski, customer manager at the Port of Gdańsk.

Rail and environmental advantages

An additional operational advantage is the immediate proximity of a public loading lane, which allows for efficient railway operations – crucial in the context of the growing importance of intermodal transport and the EU’s decarbonisation strategy. The Port of Gdańsk has been intensifying the development of its railway infrastructure for years to support the sustainable development of supply chains.

Details of the tender procedure

The property is to be made available under a fixed-term lease agreement for a period of 5 years. Two site visits have been planned to allow for reconnaissance of the area: 6 and 11 August 2025. Questions regarding the tender procedure may be submitted until 22 August 2025, while offers must be submitted by 12 p.m. on 9 September 2025, to the following address:
Zarząd Morskiego Portu Gdańsk S.A., ul. Zamknięta 18, 80-955 Gdańsk, Kancelaria Ogólna.
