Naftoport and Port of Gdańsk investment project receives construction permit

A joint project by Naftoport and the Port of Gdańsk Management Board has reached a key stage – on Thursday, 29 May 2025, the Pomorskie Province Governor issued a decision approving the project and allowing construction work to begin.
The project involves the construction of a new cargo handling station, ‘W’, at the Naftoport Liquid Fuel Handling Depot and the construction of new quays by developing the existing Quarter no. I of the refill area, i.e. the area where dredged material is stored.
The obtained permit paves the way for the commencement of construction work, which shall increase the terminal’s flexibility, stimulate the local economy and create new jobs.
The investment, key to Poland’s energy security, is the result of many months of intensive preparations and close partnership with experts, partners and local governments. It is another step towards strengthening the position of PERN, Naftoport and the Port of Gdańsk as leaders in the Baltic Sea region.
