On 1 July 2025 a modern Operations Centre, based on the existing Rescue Centre, began operating in the Port of Gdańsk. It is a key element of operational management and safety in the port, operating 24/7.

The Centre integrates tasks related to safety, coordination of operational services and crisis response. It serves as the main information management and decision support centre, both in emergency situations and during the everyday operation of the port.

Main tasks of the Operations Centre:

  • ongoing analysis of the operational situation in the port and monitoring of threats,
  • coordination of the work of internal services and partnership with external state services (including the Police, State Fire Service, Border Guard, Captain’s Office, Provincial Crisis Management Centre and Government Security Centre),
  • management of information on incidents and threats to life, health, the environment or infrastructure,
  • immediate intervention and reporting,
  • support for operations related to the handling of hazardous materials and fire-hazardous work,
  • supervision of physical and technical security systems,
  • maintaining constant operational communication and monitoring the readiness of port security and rescue services.

The Operations Centre is also a platform for partnership with all entities operating in the port – shipowners, terminal operators, state services and the local community. It is a new-generation command centre that makes the Port of Gdańsk even safer, more resilient and efficiently managed in every situation.
