All measures aimed at emergency and pollution control at the Port of Gdansk are implemented in accordance with the "Guidelines for emergency and pollution control in the port water regions under the management of Port of Gdansk Authority SA" approved by the Director of Maritime Office in Gdynia by way of Decision No. 8201/5/04 of 2 December 2004. The guidelines were revised and updated in  April 2012, and approved by the Director of Maritime Office in Gdynia by way of Decision No. 076/46/12 of 22. June 2012.

Potential sources of emergency and pollution in port water regions include:

  • sanitary, industrial and precipitation sewage outlets
  • quayside cargo handling operations
  • construction, repair and maintenance work
  • operations and maintenance of vessels
  • reception of vessel-generated waste

Immediate response action to all reported irregularities shall be taken by the Port Fire Brigade "FLORIAN" Ltd or the Maritime Fire and Rescue Services Ltd.
