The last measurements were taken in 2016 and were carried out taking into consideration vessel traffic, including noise from the operation of devices and installations, and the use of infrastructure serving port activity within the premises administered by the PGA SA and infrastructure intended for transshipments located beyond the premises of the PGA SA (related to the activity of the Port of Gdansk). The measurements were taken during the day and night.
The tests were conducted at a total of 75 points located within the premises of the PGA SA and outside the port premises; in order to measure the level of noise emissions deriving from port equipment and heading out to sea, 10 measuring points were located in the Gulf of Gdansk at a distance of 500 m from the shore or port infrastructure.
The measurements of environmental noise levels revealed no cases of exceeding permissible levels during the day at any of the measurement points. At night, the permissible noise level was exceeded at three measurement points and the maximum value by which the level was exceeded was 10.8 dB. These points were located on the edges of areas requiring acoustic protection, and following acoustic simulation it emerged they were caused by road traffic noise and not industrial noise related to vessel transshipment operations. The levels of industrial noise coming from the transshipment of vessels at night were much lower than the permissible level of
