OPIE funds

  1. ‘Extension of the intermodal container terminal in the Szczecińskie Quay area in the Port of Gdańsk’

    Eligible costs according to the Co-financing Agreement – PLN 35 million
    50% of co-financing – EUR 17.5 million
    Duration: 2012–2015

    The material scope of the project was to upgrade the storage, communication and parking areas of the intermodal container terminal at the Szczecińskie Quay. The primary objective of developing the container terminal was to achieve a balance between storage and cargo handling capacities.

Safety and rolling stock replacement at the Port of Gdańsk with co-financing from the Infrastructure and Environment Programme. The projects received co-financing from Activity 7.2. Development of maritime transport of the OPIE 2007-2013.

  1. Investments increasing the level of security in the Port of Gdańsk

    Eligible costs according to the Co-financing Agreement – PLN 4.9 million

    Duration: 2015

    The project’s objective was to improve the safety of the port by upgrading the Strażak 6 fireboat and equipping the newly established ZMPG S.A. Rescue Centre with communication and computer equipment. The direct result of the project is a reduction in the time it takes for a vessel to reach the furthest place of responsibility within the administrative boundaries of the Port of Gdańsk.

  2. Replacement of the shipping fleet of the Port of Gdańsk Authority

    Eligible costs according to the Co-financing Agreement – PLN 8 million
    85% of co-financing – EUR 6.8 million
    Duration: 2015

    A floating hydrographic-inspection vessel and an ecological-rescue rapid response boat were purchased as part of the investment.

    The new vessels increased the area of the surveyed seabed and the quality of the research carried out within the administrative borders of the Port of Gdańsk.

TEN-T funds

Project 2012-PL-91170-S Development of design documentation for the investment: Modernisation of Quays and Dredging of the Fairway at the Internal Port of Gdansk’ is co-financed by the European Union within the scope of the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T).

Eligible costs according to the Decision of the European Commission – EUR 1.1 million
50% of co-financing – EUR 0.56 million
Duration: 2013–2015

The scope of the project includes the preparation of design and environmental documentation for the following tasks:

Task 1. Design documentation for the expansion of the Obroncow Poczty Polskiej Quay and the Mew Quay.
Task 2. Design documentation for the expansion of the Oliwskie Quay.
Task 3. Design documentation for the expansion of the fairway at the Internal Port.
Task 4. Design documentation for the expansion of the Polnocne Quay.
Task 5. Design documentation for the expansion of the Zbozowe Quay and the Wisloujscie Quay.
Task 6. Design documentation for the expansion of the Dworzec Drzewny Quay.

The scope of the documentation for each task is as follows:
– Obtaining the materials necessary for the application for approval of the environmental impact assessment
– Obtaining environmental approvals for the undertakings included in the project
– Land Development Plan – concept
– Construction design
– Detailed design
– Obtaining the materials necessary for submitting the application for a construction permit
– Submission of the application for a construction permit.

The support provided to the project enabled the preparation of design documentation for the investment projects scheduled for co-financing under the forthcoming 2014–2020 financial perspective.
